Do You Need a Visa to Visit Uganda?
Yes, most visitors must obtain a visa before travelling to Uganda and are required to use the official online e-Visa system. There are visa-exempt nationalities, mainly from regional partner states, but all other travellers need to apply online
Visa-Free Entry
Citizens of some countries including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, Angola, Barbados, Belize, Fiji, Gambia, Jamaica, Malta, Singapore, and others may enter Uganda without a visa for up to 3 months.
Documents Requirement
Applicants must provide the following:
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Passport bio-data page scan
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
- Travel itinerary or tour plan
- Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address)
- Return or onward flight ticket
Additional Requirement
Depending on nationality or travel history, you may be asked for:
- Invitation letter (if visiting friends or family)
- Tour confirmation letter (if booked with a tour company)
- Proof of financial means
- Travel insurance (recommended)
Conditional Requirement

- Minors traveling alone or with one parent: consent letter from parents/guardians
- Business + tourism combined trips: explanation letter
- Previous visa overstays: explanation letter
- Dual nationality travelers: must declare both passports
