Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest national park. Here the Victoria Nile forces its way through a gorge just 7 metres wide and plunges 43 metres into the “Devil’s Cauldron”. The park’s savannah, riverine forest and wetlands are home to elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hippos and crocodiles, plus more than 450 bird species including the rare shoebill. Launch cruises to the foot of the falls, game drives on the Buligi circuit and the hike to the top of the falls make it one of Uganda’s most rewarding safari destinations.
