Visa & Documentation

Key entry information for travellers visiting Uganda.

Most visitors need a visa, applied for online through the official Uganda e-visa system before travel. Citizens of East African Community partner states and a few other countries are visa-exempt. Travellers combining Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda can apply for the East Africa Tourist Visa.
You will usually need a passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport photo, a yellow fever vaccination certificate and your return ticket or itinerary. Some applicants are also asked for a hotel booking or letter of invitation. Please check the official Uganda immigration website for the latest requirements.
Uganda e-visa applications are usually processed within a few working days, but times can vary. We recommend applying at least 2–3 weeks before travel and printing your approval letter to show on arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
Yes. Uganda requires a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate, which is checked on arrival. Please ask your doctor or travel clinic about other recommended vaccinations and malaria prevention.
If your e-visa is rejected, we will help you understand the reason and guide you on the next steps, such as correcting documents or reapplying. Visa fees are non-refundable, so please double-check every detail before you submit.
